Even with Maximum Care, Jeep’s highest tier of coverage, there are some things that an extended warranty just doesn’t cover. These include:

• Routine maintenance services like oil changes and alignments
• Wear and tear items such as brake pads and rotors
• Damage to or caused by unauthorized accessories
• Damage after not performing scheduled maintenance
• Damage from improper use of the vehicle
• Damage from a collision or other source that would be covered by a full-coverage car insurance policy

Jeep Roadside Assistance and Other Benefits

Some manufacturers sell roadside assistance and other types of coverage as an additional product, but Jeep includes roadside coverage and other benefits with its warranty contracts. These benefits include:

• First day rental: Covers up to $35 towards a rental car or taxi for any mechanical or maintenance service appointment. Excludes bodywork.
• Rental car coverage: Covers up to $35 per day up to $175 in total for a rental vehicle if your Jeep isn’t available due to a covered repair.
• Roadside assistance: Covers up to $100 per occurrence for emergency roadside services such as towing, tire changes, jumpstarts, fluid and fuel delivery, and lockout services.
• Trip interruption: Covers up to $1,000 in total for meals, lodging, and car rental expenses following a covered mechanical breakdown more than 100 miles from your home.

Below, we’ve provided a quick rundown of some of the key terms and conditions around Mopar warranty plans.

• Availability: You can purchase a Jeep extended warranty from any dealership while your factory warranty coverage is still valid.
• Benefits: Jeep warranty plans come with key replacement, trip interruption, rental car, and roadside assistance coverages.
• Cancellations: You can get a full refund if you cancel your plan within 60 days of purchase. If you cancel after this period, you can receive a prorated refund based on the remaining coverage.
• Deductible: Jeep offers deductibles of $0, $100 or $200 to choose from.
• Financing: You can typically roll the cost of a Jeep extended warranty into your vehicle purchase financing.
• Repairs and maintenance: All labor, repairs, replacements and maintenance covered under plans must be performed at an authorized Jeep service center.
• Transfers: You must pay the full balance on a Jeep extended warranty in order to transfer it to another party. Once this requirement is met, you can transfer your coverage through a Jeep dealership or Mopar for a $50 fee.

Jeep Extended Warranty Maintenance Plans

You are required to have routine maintenance services performed on the schedule in your Jeep owners manual to keep your warranty coverage valid, but these services are not covered under any extended warranty plan. However, you can purchase coverage for these services with Mopar Vehicle Protection Prepaid Oil Plans.

More Jeep Protection Products

In addition to its extended warranty line, Jeep offers a few other protection products that can cover other costs of owning a vehicle. 

• Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP): Covers the difference between what you owe on a Jeep vehicle and the value paid out from a car insurance company following a total loss.
• Road hazard tire and wheel: Covers the full cost of repairing or replacing all four wheels and tires damaged by debris, potholes, and other road hazards.
• Auto appearance: Covers repairs to dents and dings using the Mopar Paintless Dent Repair system.

Jeep Certified Pre-Owned Warranty

Jeep vehicles that meet the company’s certified pre-owned (CPO) criteria come with additional coverage beyond the original factory warranty. Every CPO Jeep comes with seven years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage, whichever comes first. These vehicles also receive an additional three months or 3,000 miles of Mopar Maximum Care from the time the factory warranty expires.

How to Tell If Your Jeep Is Still Under Warranty

Your vehicle must still be under its new car warranty or CPO warranty to be eligible for a Jeep extended warranty. If your Jeep has yet to reach the three-year or 36,000-mile mark, it is almost certainly still under its original factory warranty.

However, it doesn’t hurt to confirm.To check your warranty status through Jeep, you’ll have to log in to your account at Jeep.com or create an account if you don’t already have one. In the customer portal, you can register your vehicle identification number (VIN) to your account to check your status.

You can also submit your VIN to one of many third-party sites to check your warranty status. Be aware, however, that these sites may use your VIN and other data in ways you may not be entirely comfortable with.
